An improvement on existing 96-Well systems, the Multi-Tier™ Plate is a patented modular, reusable system featuring a base plate capable of securing 0.5mL, 1.0mL, 1.5mL, 2.0mL or 2.5mL conical glass, flat bottom and polypropylene vials. The vented design of the base plate assures uniform heating and cooling when immersed in a water bath. The cover locks the liner in place and prevents vial pullout. The prescored PTFE/Silicone/PTFE liner permits easy needle penetration, while the Molded PTFE/Silicone liner locks into each of the 96 vials and reseals after multiple injections thus reducing the chance of solvent evaporation and cross contamination.
The range of large volume plates is designed to meet special requirements. Focused on the combinatorial, environmental and food technology markets, it allows large volumes of samples to be transported in recognized ANSI/SLAS format microplates, to allow greater automation. Plates will accept the Porvair universal lid. All plates are manufactured from virgin polypropylene, can be heat-sealed and stored for prolonged periods at -80ºC.
For routine adsorption, absorption, ELISA, mixing and storage applications, the standard range of 96-well assay plates offers the perfect mix of affordability and high quality.
Filtration plates are used in their simplest form to remove particulate matter from liquid. Either the particulate matter or the filtrate is needed for further study.
Porvair Sciences has a range of filter plates to suit most filtration applications. The company has optimized filter plates for applications including cell harvesting, DNA separations, binding studies, Plasmid isolation, general filtration and sample clean up.
Porvair has a full range of 48-, 96- and 384-well microplates with a choice of glass fibre, nylon, PVDF or polyethylene filtration materials and well volumes ranging from 350μl to 5ml.
Bacti-growth plates are specially packaged plates to allow the growth of bacteria, yeast, mammalian or insect cell lines. Using only the highest-grade raw materials, our plates are tested to ensure no moulding or polymer contaminants leach out into the samples. This guarantees reproducibility and maintains customer confidence. Each Bactigrowth plate consists of a deep well plate and a tight fitting lid, packed sterile in bags.
Biological samples commonly contain proteins that interfere with downstream applications. The P3 plate uses the CRASH method, in which the protein is denatured with acetronitrile and the flocculant filtered out, allowing 96 samples to be handled at one time.
The Protein Precipitation Plate, P3, is based on the industry standard MicroLute™ format, but without the chromatographic sorbent. Protein ‘crashes’ out of solution and precipitates directly in each well when acetonitrile is added, thus solving all common problems associated with the CRASH technique of protein clean-up.
The novel dual frit, hydrophobically treated matrix means that there is no ‘wetting out’ and leakage of the sample through the plate before the application of vacuum. P3 is now commonly used as the protein precipitation plate of choice in many major pharmaceutical companies.
Glass inserts loaded in the 96-well plate performs similar to standard 12x32mm vials for Chromatography testing. 96-well pierceable Cap Mat is lined with the same PTFE/Silicone septa used in closures for Chromatography.Glass inserts provide an inert solvent resistant environment for samples.
Assembled plate has excellent thermal stability.
Pierceable Cap Mat is designed to seal crimp top or flanged inserts, ensuring sample integrity.
Cap Mat assembles easily with the inserts in the plate - no need for machines to seal the plate.

We have the Mat Capper, for those smaller labs that don't mind capping their cap mats with brut strength, or the AutoCapper that automatically tightly seals any size storage or assay plate with the push of a button.
For those labs that require to heat seal a single plate at a time, the MiniSeal II is the way to go. For the high-throughput lab, you will definitely appreciate the robust automated Ultraseal Pro that will heat seal six plates per minute with a multitude of sealing film types.
Porvair evaporators are designed to remove the traditional laboratory ‘bottleneck’ of solvent evaporation from microplates prior to analysis or reconstitution in storage buffer. These evaporators give significant throughput advantages to laboratories looking to optimize microplate sample preparation productivity. Faster than centrifugal evaporation, significant increases in sample throughput are achieved through advanced evaporator head technology and an innovative manifold design, which directly injects heated nitrogen into each individual well of the microplate simultaneously. The evaporators have been designed to be simple to install, operate and maintain. Installation requires only connection to a gas supply or cylinder and mains electricity. Safety of operation is ensured as the CE marked compact units fit into all fume cupboards. Not suitable for high boiling solvents such as DMSO and water.
Both MiniVap and UltraVap may be operated with a supply of clean, dry compressed air in place of nitrogen, if the chemistry allows. An in-line gas filter must be used in this case.
Porvair Sciences reservoir trays are designed for use with any robotic liquid handling system. These reservoirs offer options for a single liquid or a partitioned space for several liquids. Most working configurations are accounted for as well as varying liquid volumes. Made to take a range of liquid handling configurations from 8 or 12 channel pipettes through to 96 or 384 pipette heads.

J.G. Finneran Associates has introduced 8 and 12 channel reservoir trough plates to help improve convenience and productivity in high-throughput laboratories. The troughs hold liquid reagents in precise rows that align with 8-channel and 12-channel pipettes allowing researchers to simultaneously aspirate or dispense fluids in all channels. The product helps high throughput laboratories improve productivity because researchers can improve their speed and precision performing serial dilutions or dispensing different reagents in up to 12 channels.
The 8 and 12 channel reservoir trough plates are constructed of high impact plastics for durable, long-term performance; either polystyrene or polyethylene terephthalate (PETG). The reservoir design incorporates a v-shaped bottom with a residual volume of 200µL, reducing dead volume and minimizing waste. For benchtop stability, the trough plates fit snugly on top of the Finneran 96-well Multi-TierTM microplate system. The 8-channel plate has a total capacity of 56mL, with a 1mL to 7mL capacity per channel. The 12-channel plate has a 36mL total capacity with a trough capacity of 1mL to 3mL. Researchers will rely on these handy tools for adding samples, standards, wash, rinses, or reagents in high-throughput applications that involve use of multichannel pipettes. They also can be used for Invitro incubation, drug-to-drug interaction and caco-2 cells.
